What we collect

  • Answers you send through the forms on this site: your name; your email address; your phone number if you give it; the course you are asking about; your time zone; the days and times you can meet, or the date and time you would like a call; who will pay and how many payments you would like; who should receive the invoice if someone else pays; any discount situations you tick, such as military service, veteran or military-spouse status, student status, enrolling as a group or returning as a student; your goal, your time frame and your experience, including whether you have taken the exam before; what you asked to hear about when you join a waitlist or the monthly mailing list; and anything you add in a message or the notes.
  • Account details you give us: name, email address, and the exams you enroll in.
  • Learning activity: the lessons you open and finish, your practice and assessment answers, your scores and self-ratings, and the days you study, so the portal can show your progress and your mentor can coach you.
  • Enrollment and payment records for cohorts. Card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored on our servers.
  • Technical information such as browser type and approximate location, used for security and to keep the site working. When you send a form, we keep a one-way code derived from your network address for one day, so that we can limit how many forms one sender can send; the address itself is not stored.

How we use it

We use this information to answer your request, run your cohort, track your progress, send schedule and account notices, and improve the lessons. Form answers are saved to our database, hosted by Supabase through Lovable Cloud, and emailed to the team so that a person can reply to you. When you have a portal account, your profile, the exams on your account and your learning activity are saved in the same database, so that your progress follows you to any device, and our sign-in service emails you a code each time you sign in. We do not sell personal information. Mentors see the names, email addresses and learning activity of the students currently enrolled in the courses they teach, and nothing else.

Cookies and browser storage

cert.camp sets one cookie of its own. When you enter the email address your invitation to an invite-only course went to, a cookie named cc_invite_ followed by the course's short name from its web address keeps that course open to you for 30 days on that browser. It holds the address you entered together with a signature, so that it cannot be forged; scripts on the page cannot read it, and your browser sends it only to cert.camp. Signing in to the learning portal keeps your session in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, and signing out removes it. Your progress is saved to your account in our database, so it follows you from one device to another. Answers to the other forms are not kept on your device.

Retention and your choices

Account, enrollment and learning records are kept while your account is active and for the period required for tax and dispute purposes afterwards. Form answers are kept while we handle your request and for a reasonable time afterwards so that we can follow up, and you can ask us to delete them at any time. You can request a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account, your learning records or your form answers by emailing hello@cert.camp from the address you used. We respond within 30 days.

Children

Academic cohorts admit learners under 18 through their school or with a parent or guardian on the enrollment. We collect only what the cohort needs and do not advertise to minors.
