Microsoft describes the AZ-802 candidate as someone responsible for administering Windows Server as a workload in both on-premises and hybrid environments.
In this role, you deploy, implement, manage, and troubleshoot Windows Server in Azure as well as migrating and deploying workloads to Azure. You administer identity, security, management, compute, networking, storage, monitoring, high availability, and disaster recovery for Windows Server. You typically collaborate with architects, administrators, and engineers.
You use administrative tools and technologies such as Windows Admin Center, PowerShell, Azure Arc, Azure Policy, Azure Monitor, Azure Update Manager, Microsoft Defender for Identity, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and IaaS virtual machine (VM) administration.

You begin with a planning and strategy session with your mentor, and a diagnostic assessment that shows where you already stand on each exam objective, so you can put your time where it will make the biggest difference and skip reviewing what you already know.
Once a week you will meet with your cohort for live instruction, where your mentor works through the tools on real systems and answers your questions live. During the week you set aside time to review topics and practice your skills on the Practice Platform.
Every answer you give feeds an adaptive assessment that finds the objectives you have not mastered yet, and targeted practice and hands-on labs keep working on them until they hold. Each topic comes back for review just as you would start to forget it, so by exam day you are not just hoping you remember.
Once a week you can also schedule one-on-one time with your mentor to work through anything that is still unclear. Beyond that, every week you should also complete at least one hands-on lab and one practice exam.
